Beyond Video in cooperation with Tucson Pride are creating a video of the highlights of this year’s Pride in the Desert at Reid Park which will be held on October 1, 2016.

Academy Village Promotional Video

Creating the Academy Village Promotional Video.

 

Academy Village is a vibrant and friendly retirement community in Tucson Arizona ideal for active, independent adults who have no intention of retiring from life.

Beyond Video was asked to create a promotional video so the residence would be able to share their community with others.

While filming Mary and I took  pictures from behind the scenes of creating this video.

With the help of many of the residence we were able to create a video that shows the facilities as well as the warm inviting environment.  Without each and every person involved in front of and behind the scenes we wouldn’t have been able to make this video.

An Author Shares His Story

Raymond’s first book was a book of poems.  His latest book/play is entitled, “The Private and Public Life of King Able”.

We sat down with Raymond to find out more about the inspiration for his book and to find out more about him.

In Raymond Keen’s drama, The Private and Public Life of King Able, we are introduced to a man and king no better or worse than the rest of us.  He is a king about to learn some hard lessons from a silent and sinister enemy.  But is it too late? . . .

When we asked what the theme and style of their wedding was Pete and Alex replied, “Elegant, formal/black tie.”  They wanted their wedding day to be perfect and to express their personalities.  Well that came to a reality on January 2, 2016 when they exchanged their vows in front of their family and friends at Skyline Country Club.  Reverend Michael Kotch performed the ceremony after their 30 member wedding party entered from the spiral staircase.  Fantastic Five Entertainment kept the crowd going.

Why We Love Client Questions (And You Should, Too!)

This topic was sparked by a comment we got from a client.  She wanted to know if in the future she could get additional copies of her event.  This makes me think that knowing clients questions would be very helpful.  Below are some of the questions we feel you might want answered.

If you have questions, please let us know by writing them in the comments session.  We would love to hear from you.

1- In the future can we purchase additional copies of our event?

Absolutely.  We archive each project, event, occasion so that years from now you can get additional copies.

2- Do we have to pay the total amount prior to our event?

Your final payment is due upon completion of your event..  We  also can arrange a payment plan that works for you.

3- Do you have backup equipment?

Yes, we always bring an extra camera and extra gear.

4- How long before I get my wedding DVD?

Most wedding packages include a trailer for which you will get a link.  You will receive this link 1-3 weeks after your wedding.  You will receive your completed wedding 4-16 weeks after your wedding day.

5- Why does it take so long to receive my wedding DVD?

It usually takes 20-40 hours of editing.  It also depends on how many other projects we are filming/editing prior to your wedding.

Surprise Party and more…

 Being able to create a montage to show at a surprise birthday party is rewarding…but to be able to capture the look on her face as she walks into a room full of her friends and family is PRICELESS!

We love creating montages for special occasions especially when it’s a surprise for someone.  Not only did Beyond Video make the montage that was shown at the surprise party but we got to see the look on her face when she arrived.  We also recorded comments or “confesstionals” as David liked to call them of the guests that attended.

Here are a few emails we got after the event was over.

“Thank you so much for you help at Elaine’s party. She was genuinely surprised, and has called it her best birthday ever.”
You both played a big, big part in that.

On June 7th , Beyond Video worked with CE Entertainment at the Pride Guide Wedding Expo at the JW Marriott Starr Pass in Tucson. It is always fun working with Marc, but this time our booth was next to his so we had the chance to do a little extra video.

His oldest daughter was assisting Marc at his booth and pulled double duty as a model in the fashion show. Later, Marc provided some spontaneous dance fun which was completely unexpected and unrehearsed hence the term spontaneous.

Pima County Courthouse Wedding

Ella & Wallace get married at the courthouse.

2015 started off with a first for Beyond Video.   We filmed our first courthouse wedding and hopefully many more courthouse weddings will follow.

Some of you may be wondering why you would hire a professional videographer for such a short ceremony.  You could just have someone record your ceremony on their cell phone and you would have a basic video.  On the other hand there is a lot of excitement leading up to the actual ceremony and immediately afterwards.  With careful editing you can complete your story of your ceremony at the courthouse.  It’s much more than a 5 minute ceremony.

Otherwise your ceremony could be 5 minutes with memoreies of your vows fading with each passing year.  Even though you may not want a big wedding with all the expenses and planning that goes with it, you will still want to remember your wedding.

A Wedding At The Lodge at Ventana Canyon

We remember June 1, 2013 so well because it was the first day that Tucson broke 100 degrees.  We had gotten to know Ashley and Travis because of interviewing them for their love story. They are such a fun loving and adorable couple.  This video shares with you a glimpse of their personalities and how Ashley and Travis met and their LOVE STORY.

We were fortunate to get to know Ashley’s family several years back when we created a montage for her grandfather’s birthday celebration and were thrilled to film Ashley’s wedding day.

Weddings are meant to be personal and have the personality of the couple.  Ashley’s grandfather made the cross that was at the alter at the ceremony at Saguaro Buttes.  If you look closely at their wedding trailer you can get a glimpse of it.  Pretty spectacular!

Timing is the best way to sum up how our newest wedding couple came to us.  Well… here’s the story.  We got a call from Danielle saying a photographer had referred Beyond Video to her.  She said her fiancé had changed his mind and now wanted a videographer.   She knew her wedding was only a few months away but she said she was looking for someone GOOD.  We immediately knew we were going to get along well after listening to her phone message.

After talking extensively to Danielle, we were able to put together a unique customized wedding package to meet their vision of their special day.   We’re so happy to share their photo and can’t wait to film their wedding..

This is a first for Beyond Video!  Bianca called saying she loved our venue and wanted to make an appointment to come out and see our site.  This seemed a bit odd to me since we’re a videography company and don’t provide sites for weddings.  We capture events!  We talked and I explained that we could film her wedding day for her so she would be able to watch it years from now.  What a great idea she thought. We set up an appointment so she and her fiancé Jeremy could meet with us.  We’re so excited to have Bianca & Jeremy added to our Beyond Video family of wedding couples.

Lindsay and Rocco’s Wedding Story ~ The Oasis at Wild Horse Ranch

When planning a wedding, themes are used to base the event off of.   With the help of the bride’s mother, Lindsay and Rocco expressed their personalities with a peacock theme.   Blue, purple and green were present in the handmade party favors.   Peacock feathers adorned the cake as well as the bride’s hair. The couple planned out so many fun activities for their guests, which included fireworks as Lindsay & Rocco entered their reception, a cigar bar, a candy bar and a late night snack bar.

Mass on the Border in Nogales Arizona April 1, 2014

On April 1, 2014, Catholic Bishops prayed for  immigration reform and for those who  died trying to cross the border.  The service was led by His Eminence Sean Cardinal O’Malley.  The bishops commemorated the deaths of migrants in the U.S. desert and prayed for immigration reform.  A press conference followed.

Justice for Immigrants  contacted Beyond Video.  Beyond Video with Velocity Streaming live streamed the entire event as well as the press conference.

Welcome Lisa and Jeff

Beyond Video will be filming Lisa & Jeff’s wedding this year.

The sweetest couple came to our studio last week.  They are getting married this year and want us to capture their wedding day for them.  The combination of photos and video will help capture their Cinderella themed wedding.  We can’t wait to see how all the details they have worked on will come together the day of their wedding this April.

The List: A Musical~ To be filmed by Beyond Video

A local from Tucson, Clark Jewett has written the music, lyrics and book for, “The List: A Musical.” He is also producing and directing the production, which has a two-day run May 17th & 18th at the Fox Tucson Theatre.

What has Beyond Video been up to lately?

We’ve been asked time and time again what projects have we been working on. I thought I’d share a few of the events and projects we’ve done in the last few months. 2013 started great!

The last in the family of generations of girls, Missy had her quinceanera in January. We filmed her quinceanera day for her starting at St Elizabeth Ann Seton for the church ceremony and then heading to Westward Look Resort for the party and festivities.

Bryan + David tied the knot in Tucson AZ.  They legally got married in New York.

The pouring of love from family and friends was contagious.  Even though we had only worked with Jacob Chinn (Jacob Chinn Photography) before, we felt like we had teamed up with the other wedding professionals.

All the staff at the JW Marriott at Star Pass created an oasis for the ceremony and reception to happen.  Andrew Wagner from Muse Entertainment provided the entertainment and fun games to keep the guests entertained. Gabriel Francisco played background music with his classical guitar during the ceremony and during cocktails.  The most touching and emotional part of the wedding was the ceremony performed by their dear friend Michael.  Their wedding trailer clip will give you a glimpse of that.

Tucson Pride in the Desert/ October 13, 2012 at Armory Park, Tucson AZ

The theme for the 35th Tucson Pride in the Desert was, “Pride Links Us Together”.  The event was held at Armory Park where there was entertainment from local musicians, a mass commitment ceremony and exhibits from local organizations from the community.

This year’s Pride on Parade was held in downtown Tucson along Armory Park on Saturday, October 13, 2012.  People in colorful floats, cars, trucks and motorcycles joined in to celebrate this year’s theme of, “Pride Links Us Together”.

AERO Sprinkler Foam Test

AERO Automatic Sprinkler Company tested 6 foam generators which are used for fire suppression in a newly built airplane hanger.  The first day tested the water sprinkler.  The second day tested the foam sprinkler.  The foam needed to cover the entire surface up to 3 feet deep in 3 minutes.  The foam actually rose to about 6 feet which is about 2 feet lower than our camera position.

With our 2 cameras we were positioned on a lift that rose 6 feet in height. We were harnessed in for safety reasons.

The most exhilarating part was when the foam started to pile up.

A Live Broad-casted Wedding at The Tucson Botanical Gardens~Tucson AZ

Cassie & Danny tied the knot on October 19, 2012 at the picturesque Tucson Botanical Gardens. We had the pleasure of working with Susan Cross who performed the ceremony.  Cassie wanted her grandparents and relatives who weren’t able to attend to be apart of her special day.  We live broad-casted their wedding so they could be apart of the day too.   It was important for her grandparents to see her walking down the aisle so Cassie placed us right up front.  It was a magical time for all especially when the guests blew kisses to Cassie and Danny.

John Proposes to Mona

John Proposes to Mona

Paris…the Eiffel Tower…What could be a more romantic place to propose?  John thought so too.  In fact he wanted to surprise Mona by creating his version of the proposal that would be shared at their reception.  This clip is part of the entire montage that John Smalley Productions and Beyond Video wrote and produced.

John had Mona’s sister, Hana, get in on the fun by having her take Mona’s role and act out John’s perception of how he thought the proposal played out.  Even right down to the details, Hana wore the dress Mona wore the night of the proposal.
